“Batter Up”
I probably would watch sports if it looked anything like this…
Paper Moon watercolor on paper
'It is only a paper moon
Hanging over a cardboard sea
But it wouldn't be make believe
If you believe in me...' -Nat King Cole, It's Only a Paper Moon
Spring Has Sprung watercolor on paper
Thoughts of spring are blooming in my mind, and it has already sprung up in my heart. Something tells me that the Easter Bunny might just like a fancy little smock, so I painted one for her and handed her a bouquet.
The Animal's Picnic 12"x12" watercolor on paper
The original for this happy little excursion is now up in my shop!
Another original painting in this shop update coming soon.
The Animal's Picnic 12"x12" watercolor on paper
Summer get-togethers are the funnest, and this bunch has gathered 'round a mushroom cap for a feast of corn and ripe watermelon. Good things are always made that much better with friends. I hope your summer looks something like this (but if you are keeping company with a sweet little otter dressed in retro attire, please let me know, I'd love to tag along!)
Happy Summer!

Farmer O'Hare & Bonnie Bunny 12"x10" watercolor on paper

Farmer O'Hare & Bonny Bunny: The Morning Chores 12"x10" watercolor on paper
A glimpse into the charming country life of Farmer O'Hare & Bonny Bunny. I'm convinced there could be no sweeter homestead than theirs.
I was very honored to be approached by a Taiwanese magazine that circulates through the educational system, featuring art and inspiring people, places and things to inspire a future generation!
Boiled eggs emerging from a metal pot, and sinking down into lovely hues of tinted vinegar. It is Easter-Eve for certain.
Oh, how I love this time of year! Every time spring rolls around, I fall that much more in love with it. I fashioned these two painted shells after old delftware and blue china patterns of yesteryear. And of course, I come by my love of daffodils naturally, they were my Grandmother's favorite flower. I can absolutely see why.
Happy Easter, my little rabbits!

Farmer O'Hare and Bonnie Bunny are busy gathering and working in their garden.
I've fallen in love with these two characters, and I can guarantee that you will be seeing a lot more of them in my coming work!
Sharing a few bunny thoughts before Easter. Feeling very spring-y this week.
{Painted version coming tomorrow!}
The Magical Story Hour 12"x12" watercolor & ink on paper
After building their new friend, the following day the children returned to enjoy his company again. And they all settled down for a quiet and magical story hour with their new friend. Everyone is hoping to have their favorite book read aloud, even the animals (the birds are carrying their favorite in the air!) What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon!
Thinking of teaching my own snow sculptures the handy trick of reading a-loud from favorite books.
Bunny Mitten 7"x7" watercolor on paper
The beginning of a little set of animals with Scandinavian mittens. I almost want to knit a few sets of these myself to supply our woodland friends with some winter warmth.
The first installment of four knitted friends, in my series Smitten with the Mitten. These little woodland critters will be helping us count down the weeks to Christmas!
My original set, Visions of Sugar Plums, is still available in my shop for a limited time if you want to buy an original piece of my art. The ornaments available in the series are:
Hop over to my shop to make these a part of your holiday decorating and let them help you celebrate a woodland Christmas for years to come!
A sweetheart of a bunny is enjoying her fragrant clover. She'll probably nibble on it in a minute or two, but for now she's taking time to stop and smell the posies.
Painting the Great Egg 8"x10" Watercolor, gouache & ink on paper
My last painting, Coloring Eggs Together was so well received, and it definitely found a soft spot in my heart. It was suggested to me to not just leave it at that, but to paint a new interpretation of it. And thus, this sequel was made.
As well as a miniature story to go along with it: Fredrick, George & Harry Bunny will hand you a card for their trade and it will most likely read the following: "...Bunny Bros. Inc., we'll paint your house, walls, fences, and storefronts. Have experience with whitewash, and fine detailed lettering."
Their specialty however, has always lied with eggs (no job is too big or too small). They aim to please and take pride in their craft. During this particular project, the eldest Bunny Brother, Fredrick is consulting the plans to their tried and true architectural plans. They have enlisted the help of their two dear friends, Sadie & Sam. But painting eggs can be a messy business, and some sort of mischief always presents itself. The youngest, Harry Bunny, will definitely have to take a good long bath tonight to remove all of that red paint.
My latest illustration: Coloring Eggs Together has been so well received, I would like to thank all of you for your kind words! Just in time for spring and Easter, I have listed the original painting for sale in my shop.
I have to say that this painting has found a special place in my heart, and I almost can't bring myself to part with it. It is definitely one of my favorite pieces in my portfolio right now.
A Happy Easter to all of you, my little rabbits, in your own little burrows across the globe!
Coloring Eggs Together 12"x16" Watercolor, gouache, & colored pencils on paper
A sketch of a little something that I did last week, I will share the finished piece tomorrow with you.
Yesterday was the first day of spring, and this little rabbit illustrator is welcoming spring with open arms.
