Treats for Tricks watercolor on paper
Busy about new circus tricks, who needs a "Flea Circus" when you have your own beetle?
James & the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl - Book Cover Tribute
What happens when you combine an orphaned boy, a spider, centepeed, inch-worm, lady bird, glow worm, grasshopper, and one oversized fruit? Genius.
This is another tribute book cover I did to one of my all time favorite adventures. James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl (originally published in 1961 by Alfred A. Knopf)
You can bet his wicked old aunts are up in that rickety house planning some kind of no-good and mean schemes. But for me, that round fruit full of typography left me suddenly wishing for bowls full of peaches and cream.
Berry Happy watercolor on paper
Dreaming of warm weather and sweet wild strawberries. Two things that make me Berry Happy indeed!
Looking forward to signing copies of this lovely book at tomorrow's book signing party. I can scarcely believe this has been out for over a week now!!
I've been especially pondering God's goodness today: In my life I have always been so thankful for all of my Heavenly Father's blessings and for the gifts He has given me. I am just so overwhelmed by the goodness He has shown to me for blessing me to pursue illustration and be represented by my wonderful agency. I have been so blessed to have the love and support of my Mom, Dad, and brother during the whole process. I love my family to the moon and back!
Thank you for letting me be a bit sentimental today. There are so many adventures ahead and I can not wait to discover them!!
I may be painting many shades of blue, but I've never been happier... Thus, the equation I've just discovered: Blueberries, and blue columbines = this illustrator's happy pink cheeks!
You're the Apple of My Eye 11"x14" watercolor on paper
This happy trio has spent the afternoon in the apple orchard, picking apples, reading, taking the occasional photograph, and (as the evidence of blankets and baskets would suggest) enjoying a hearty picnic lunch. There really is no sweeter way to pass a day than this.
On this cold and wintery January day, I am most certainly with them in my heart of hearts.
The beginnings of things.
Also, my thoughts are officially on spring now thanks to this fun little picnic taking place.
Happy wishes being made on the last dandelion of autumn. This was just the best of autumns, and I am wishing for the autumns to come to be just like this years.
Patty Cake’s Recipe for Fun 14"x11" Watercolor on Paper
Patty Cake has her own recipe for fun. And her friends, the ingredients, pop out of the cupboards to help her and add some sweetness.
I wish this is what cooking looked like for me. I’m still checking egg cartons for derby hats.
