Friend Ship watercolor on paper
Even when sailing through stormy weather and rough waters, the Friend Ship holds fast and strong!

Simon Squirrel watercolor on paper
There's no nut he finds too tough to crack. To be sure, he's one smart squirrel.
Packed up and shipped off, this little lass has flown the coop and is offically on her way to Light Grey Art Lab Gallery's: Arborteum Exhibition! And I suppose that makes me an empty-nester now...
Home watercolor on paper
I just love this illustration, and it certainly has to be in my top favorites. It depicts my favorite season, and it reminds me of my home, so that of course is what I decided to call it!
Many of you that live in the states are most likely homeward bound for celebrating Thanksgiving with friends and family, and so here's to wishing you happy journeys, and a joy-filled time when you arrive at your homes, wherever they may be. Happy Thanksgiving!!
I am so excited to announce that one week from today (November 11th) I will be having a book signing and live painting demo at the charming boutique shop Renaissance & Papyrus in downtown South Haven, Michigan from noon-7. If you're near by, please stop in and say hello, I'd love to meet you!!
There will be treats and goodies, and of course the shop is home to the most lovely of things!
Sharing another glimpse into the open pages of the lovely edition of this classic story. This scene with Watch becoming part of the children's story is one of my favorites!!
Thank you so much to everyone with their kind words about this book!! I have been overwhelmed by the warmth and sweetness this book has been welcomed with!! It has meant so, so much!
I can hardly believe that it is November 1st, and that of course means the day has finally come for this lovely book to hit the shelves! I am so excited, and over-the-moon!!! Stop in a book store near you, or pick it up online!
Wishing a Happy Book Birthday to this new edition I am so proud to have worked on! I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I loved working on it.
A glimpse of something that may be Halloween related, hope you are all smiles, like this toothy pumpkin, enjoying the fun of dressing up and acting a bit silly! Happy Halloween!!
They're here!!! These arrived at my doorstep this past week and oh the joy and sheer thrill of finally being able to hold this first book I have illustrated. It was all so surreal and a dream come true, to be honest. So over-the-moon to have illustrated over 30+ illustrations for the interior of The Boxcar Children's 75th Anniversary Fully Illustrated Edition. Be prepared for lots more little sneaks and peeks, snippets and bits the next few weeks!!
Feeling ever so thankful this month, and how fitting with Thanksgiving just around the corner. I have the best job in all the world, and don't I know it.
Happy October, as if I needed another excuse to adore this calendar month, my favorite season just got a little bit more favorite-er!
Be Cool Stay in School 14"x16" watercolor on paper
This original painting is now available in my shop, in case you'd like to give these two a loving home!
He's so nifty, and what's more he knows it!
Another sneak peek: Once again, the love of a true furry friend! So glad I have my sweet golden retriever to keep me company, and she just loves to have an arm wrapped 'round her!
I just adore days like this, that's probably why autumn has a special place in my heart! Warm cups of tea, pumpkins, and the smell of cinnamon. And all the while, the sound of a windy day is an enchantment to me!
A lovely little note: That bouquet that keeps popping up in my recent posts are my Mama's that she has had dried for years (a special thanks to her for letting me carefully borrow them!) I think I love a good dried flower more than the real thing sometimes!
This horsey is glancing at something over his shoulder. I wonder what he sees...
I hope you have a furry friend (or feathered or finned, or scaled for that matter!) Because there's really nothing quite like it...
Part Two of my recent floral mania (pink edition)
Geraniums have always had a special place with me. My great-grandparents owned a greenhouse where they grew and sold flowers. Gernaiums were what they were really known for. I like to think that I inherited that from them.
I may be painting many shades of blue, but I've never been happier... Thus, the equation I've just discovered: Blueberries, and blue columbines = this illustrator's happy pink cheeks!
An Afternoon of Hygge 8"x10" watercolor on paper
I'm making a few of my favorite paintings available for sale! You can purchase Hygge, here.
These friends are looking forward to meeting you!
The first soft, barely-there layers of color. I love this stage of the painting process!
The beginnings of things.
Also, my thoughts are officially on spring now thanks to this fun little picnic taking place.
