L. M. Montgomery was born this day, November 30th, 1874. So here’s my tribute to the author and her red-haired, free spirited, enthusiastic, optimistic, Anne of Green Gables!

Get Along Little Doggie
Sometimes a little cowpoke has to give their trusty steed a good ol’ fashioned poke to get moseying along. Happy Trails!
Learning Curves
Generational Learning at its finest, with a Grandfather teaching his Grandson something old and then in turn the grandson teaches his Grandfather something new!
You’re never too old or too young for learning!
Father Time watercolor on paper
Walking through the ages, holding time tenderly in the crook of his arm. Father Time himself has been on my mind a bit, seeing as we have left one year and gone into another, but it is true that he walks amoung us every calendar day of our lives. You may or may not know this, but Father Time is also a friend to Mother Nature, so I put some little woodland friends in there as well!
Happy Twenty-Eighteen, hoping it's off to a lovely beginning for you!
Home watercolor on paper
I just love this illustration, and it certainly has to be in my top favorites. It depicts my favorite season, and it reminds me of my home, so that of course is what I decided to call it!
Many of you that live in the states are most likely homeward bound for celebrating Thanksgiving with friends and family, and so here's to wishing you happy journeys, and a joy-filled time when you arrive at your homes, wherever they may be. Happy Thanksgiving!!
Apple Dog 11"x14" watercolor on paper
A painting I did of my brother and his sweet black dog Molly- her favorite treats are apples. This is precisely how I wanted to capture them forever, singing to one another, and sharing in one of their famous adventures.
Scout watercolor on paper
Scout is quite the little adventurer. He asked me for that skeleton key, and I gave it to him... Not certain of what he is going to use it for, but he sure did want it!!
Pink may be most every little girl's favorite color, but it can also be so sophisticated and elegant. It's definitely a color that will grow up with you. Just an observation as I have been painting through rose-colored glasses lately, and I'm happy to report that I like what I see!
P.S. - Something exciting: This may or may not be end-papers for a little something (but you didn't hear it from me!)
Sweet William 8"x10" watercolor on paper
Another original is up in my shop! I would think it could be great fun to catch a ride on a snail, and enjoy a happy garden tour at their leisurely pace...
Happy Trails 11"x14" watercolor and gouache on paper
These two exotic animals have been all over the world and while they wait for their next departure time, in between destinations, the sloth rests his head for a little nap, tired from all of the traveling. Meanwhile the llama is busy reading the newspaper and planning all of their new exciting travels. Clearly she has enough energy for the both of them.
It seems fitting to insert an excerpt from my favorite Frank Capra film: "Do you know what the three most exciting sounds in the world are? Anchor chains, airplane motors and train whistles." These two obviously feel the same.
Rambling Jack Rabbit 7"x7" Watercolor, gouache & ink on paper
Rambling Jack has wanderlust and loves a good adventure. Most rabbits are content to stay in their woods and fields, but Jack is on his way to see the world. Right now he is going to visit his Aunt Hattie and three little cousins, Elliot, Rose, and Buttons.
He's asking directions from a local owl, as Jack had heard they are supposed to be very wise.
A detail of an illustration featuring a rabbit with wanderlust, (as previously promised).
Here's the wise old owl he's asking directions from.
New painting coming soon: "Rambling Jack Rabbit"
Here is my sketch of the traveling bun, Jack Rabbit. I'm smitten with this 'fella.
I'll share the painting with all of you shortly. Until then... happy trails!
